Administration

Support the mission of Ve’ahavta by donating time to help with alpha/numeric data entry, answering phones, filing, mailing and other administrative tasks.

Event Committee Participant

Calling all event planners! Volunteers support event logistics, from the planning stage to implementation for events throughout the year.

Meal Box Food Preparer

Help prepare healthy meals which are distributed by the Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness outreach van to 70+ people each shift experiencing homelessness.

Time commitment: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 3 pm-5 pm or Fridays 10:30 am-1 pm, every other week.

 

MYTORONTO Exhibit Curator

Design and support the art curation for the MYTORONTO exhibit that takes place in the fall. The MYTORONTO exhibit showcases the top 40 photos from the MYTORONTO photography contest for people who experience homelessness.

Time commitment: August to November, 2-3 hours per week, with potentially greater hours required leading up to the exhibit in mid-October.  

 

MYTORONTO Exhibit Planner

Plan and implement the MYTORONTO exhibit in mid-October with support from the MYTORONTO Exhibit Curator and the MYTORONTO Program Lead. We are seeking a creative and committed individual well versed in art, photography and event planning.  If interested, please fill out our online application.   

Time commitment: August to November, 5-10 hours per week, with potentially greater hours required leading up to the exhibit in mid-October.  

 

MYTORONTO Sales Support

Do you have experience as a vendor liaison or with sales experience at trade shows? The MYTORONTO vendors sell their calendars at various venues including the Christmas Market, the Path and Craft Fairs. We need your help to arrange this. Please fill out our online application. 

Time commitment: October to January, 5-10 hours per week.

 

MYTORONTO Vendor Support

Do you have a social work/service background and are looking to give back? Provide support and mentoring to individuals with lived experience of homelessness and poverty who will be selling the MYTORONTO calendars. These individuals will need confidence boosting and encouragement from their mentors as they learn new skills and develop a source of income.

Social Media Support

Are you looking to give back but can’t find a volunteer opportunity that fits your busy schedule? We need creative and committed individuals well versed and social media savvy to create and grow our presence and audience. Check out some of the Ve’ahavta programs such as MYTORONTOMeal Box and the Ve’ahavta Street Academy and let us know if you want to help us your voice to champion these amazing programs. Please fill out our online application.

Supply Room Sorter

Help sort and organize incoming clothing and hygiene donations for Ve’ahavta’s Drive to Survive program. Items are distributed by the Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness (MJRH) outreach van.
