Corporate Giving Program

Ve’ahavta offers a Corporate/Employee program that includes a variety of components to meet the needs of diverse workplaces. The program can be customized for each participating company, allowing them to choose from a menu of engaging activities for employees throughout the year.

Following is the menu of activities:

  • Present a Lunch & Learn interactive group workshop provided by Ve’ahavta staff on topics related to homelessness and poverty
  • Have a trained speaker from the Renee Roth Memorial Speaker’s Bureau, who has been a client in Ve’ahavta programs, share their story
  • Volunteer for one or more shifts on the Ve’ahavta’s Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness outreach van (3 volunteers per shift)
  • Initiate a staff fundraising campaign and/or make a corporate contribution
  • Coordinate a supply drive to support Ve’ahavta’s poverty alleviation programs
  • Attend Ve’ahavta’s annual Starry Nights Gala or other Ve’ahavta programs
  • Prepare a meal or a portion of the meal that will be distributed on the MJRH outreach van

“The van shortens the distance between marginalized people and those more fortunate. It provides an opportunity to share the basics with people who we share our city with but often go overlooked.  More than that though, the interaction involved with handing out food, clothing or a cup of coffee, presents a small but meaningful opportunity to share a moment of common humanity with a person you may otherwise never meet.  It is a wonderful program for those in the Ve’ahavta van and those who meet it when it stops.”
