Last updated 13 June 2022: Due to the ongoing pandemic, speakers are currently not booking in-person events, but are happy to speak at virtual events.
Learn from someone with lived experience of homelessness or poverty.
The Speakers Bureau Program is a program in which Ve’ahavta participants learn how to craft and share their personal stories in front of an audience and are provided paid speaking engagements for community groups and corporate partners.
The program is a unique opportunity to have someone who has lived experience with poverty and homelessness speak to your congregation, school, youth group, or other community group. Having someone from the Speakers Bureau engage with your community can lead to a deeper understanding of the crisis of homelessness in Toronto, fosters empathy, and will motivate your community to act for tikun olam (repairing the world).
Book a speaker for:
- Corporate events
- Educational workshops
- Virtual events
- Workplace lunch n’ learns
- Youth groups
There is a $250 fee for this program. The fee goes directly to supporting the speaker and to programs that promote positive change in the lives of people of all faiths and backgrounds who have been marginalized by poverty and hardship.
