Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness (MJRH)

Help distribute food, coffee, clothing, hygiene supplies, and most importantly, provide conversation and companionship to individuals experiencing homelessness. Sign up for a shift through our volunteer portal.

Time commitment: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday nights from  6pm-midnight.

 

Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness Donation Pick Ups

Using your own vehicle and knowledge of the city, help Ve’ahavta to pick up donated items and other supplies.

Certified Mechanic

Seeking a certified mechanic to provide pro-bono service to Ve’ahavta to ensure that our Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness (MJRH) outreach van stays in great condition. To let us know that you would be interested in this role, please fill out our online application.

Time commitment: ongoing, flexible schedule.  

 

Ve’ahavta Street Academy (VSA)

Facilitate life skill workshops, based on your area of expertise, that will empower individuals marginalized by poverty to pursue educational programs, find gainful employment or engage in other meaningful opportunities.

To apply to be a VSA facilitator, please fill out our online application. 

Time commitment: Weekday, 2-3 hours per single VSA session (sessions run 3 times a year.)

 

Drive to Survive

Coordinate drives for clothing, hygiene products and other supplies among your friends, family, community members or classmates for the people served by our Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness outreach van.

The Ve’ahavta Cookbook

Prepare baked goods and other treats in your home together with your family and friends to be distributed by the Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness outreach van to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Events

Throughout the year Ve’ahavta has events such as the Starry Nights Gala and the Passover Seder. Volunteers support event logistics from the planning stage to implementation. Event volunteers typically help with setting up, greeting guests, serving food and generally bringing the spirit of the event alive!
