The Ve’ahavta Project
Roll up your sleeves for a day of community-wide volunteering. Bring your family or come on your own for a day of hands-on activities to make an immediate difference in the lives of people affected by homelessness.
Together, we will make real change happen.
The Ve’ahavta Project is a chance to make a difference with your own two hands by creating essential supplies for people experiencing poverty and homelessness. You will also learn what you can do to help these individuals make real and lasting change happen.
Join our community – you’ll be surprised how much can be accomplished in a single afternoon.
Sunday, December 8 2019 – 2-5pm – The Warehouse Venue
Volunteers and Ve’ahavta program participants will work together to create sleeping mats, blankets and study kits for those attending our work and life training programs.
All attendees are asked to open a fundraising page on a peer-to-peer platform where others can sponsor their efforts. There is no cost to participate, but we ask that you donate or raise at least $25.
Make Sleeping Mats & Blankets
Sleeping mats and blankets are essential to keep individuals living on the streets and in other temporary housing situations warmer and drier as they sleep.
The sleeping mats are made out of milk bag cartons that would otherwise end up in the waste stream.
The “no-sew” fleece blankets are created from donated materials.
You make the impact—we will do the driving. As the temperature drops, we’ll distribute the blankets you created and make sure they get to the right place.
Prepare The Stuff Adults Need To Study
You can also prepare supply kits to equip the participants of our career-training programs.
Find answers to commonly asked questions below. If you still have questions, contact email@example.com or give us a call at 416.964.7698.
Participants will break off into groups to focus on different projects:
