This position is a driving force behind our volunteer mobilization initiatives, focusing primarily on increasing and deepening engagement of our volunteer base through educational initiatives, as well as interactive programs and events.


Reporting to the Manager of Volunteer Programs, you will be a part of a progressive team leading the way in volunteer management.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create content and deliver educational workshops for our volunteers in order to deepen their knowledge and understanding of topics such as personal responsibility, social action, as well as the issues affecting our clients such as housing, mental health, food security, and other socio-economic factors.

You will play a key role in the planning and implementation of our events, including our annual major event, The Ve’ahavta Project, which engages hundreds of individuals in a day of interactive learning and hands-on volunteering.

As a key holder of volunteer relations, you will contribute to ensuring a positive volunteer experience by building rapport and community amongst our volunteer base. You will also implement strategies and tactics to engage our current volunteers in new ways, and recruit new volunteers as needed to support organizational goals and objectives.

As the Volunteer Education and Events Coordinator, you will exude Ve’ahavta’s mission to excite and engage volunteers in pursuit of our collective mission to make positive change in the lives of all peoples.

We are seeking a highly personable, creative, and organized individual who meets the following eligibility criteria:


1-3 years of related work experience in the non-profit/education field preferred

  • 1-2 years or experience in a training/facilitation role
  • 1-2 years of experience in an events/program planning role
  • Experience supervising/working with volunteers is an asset
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Experience working with CRM (Salesforce) is an asset
  • Proficient with online communications tools and platforms, experience using an LMS an asset
  • Superb skills, experience, and passion for training and facilitation
  • Existing knowledge of socio-economic topics, as listed above
  • Strong project/event management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, highly compassionate, patient, and supportive
