JOB PURPOSE
As the successful candidate, in this role, you will grow invaluable skills and knowledge relating
to not-for-profit finance management. As the key person in charge of data entry, receipting,
bookkeeping, and reconciliation, you will ensure that data is precise and timely.
As Ve’ahavta’s Finance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization’s finance activities including but not limited to general bookkeeping duties,
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, processing, reviewing, reconciling incoming donations,
bank and reconciliation, issuing tax receipts.
You will also have the opportunity to utilize and develop the integration of donor management
systems into the finance department by overseeing pledge and donation data. You will also
oversee the usage of project management software for the finance department, ensuring data
is up-to-date and accurate.
Through your strong communication skills and customer service experience, you will
correspond with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure impeccable service from the finance department.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of work experience in accounting field (non-profit experience is an asset but
not required) and/or related education - Strong experience managing multiple databases and software platforms such as Salesforce, Raisin, IATS credit card processing
- Strong level of comfort and experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong experience using project management software such as Monday.com is an asset
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Strong experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
- Professional manner and strong communication skills
- Able to multi-task and work flexibly
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and possesses a problem-solving mindset
- Dependable and trustworthy
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
